James & Sons is proud to be one of the select tobacconists in America to offer some of the very rare, beautiful new Anganorsa Leaf Signature Series cigars. According to the blender Eduardo Fernández, “Signature Selection is blended with our best refined aged tobaccos selected from our most exclusive lots in our farms in Nicaragua.” The cigar has been aged for seven years and only 500 boxes have been produced, making it highly-sought after and difficult to find.
The cigar uses all Nicaraguan tobacco, including Corojo ’99 rosado claro wrapper from Jalapa for the wrapper and binder. The filler is a strong media tiempo leaf blended with Corojo ’99 and Criollo ’98 from Estelí and Jalapa.
Less than a tenth of all tobacco plants end up producing the rare medio tiempo leaves, which grow on the top of the plant above the ligero leaves. The growing process requires the leaves to be left on the plant 50 percent longer, resulting in the curing process beginning while the leaves are still on the plant.
On the palate, the cigar is full flavored, with a body that ranges from medium to full. It starts off nutty and earthy with a touch of pepper. The cigar becomes more creamy, with notes of citrus, dried fruit and wood. The cigar remains smooth and complex, a pure delight to smoke.
James & Sons is proud to offer the Aganorsa Signature Selection in three sizes: Robusto (5”x 52), Belicoso (6¼”x 52), and Corona Gorda (6”x 44).
